My xbox elite controller for pc has a broken micro usb port and i don't know how to/where...

I purchased a Xbox one controler to play on my pc Windows 10, there is 2 years and a half. For 3 days I cannot use it any more, the administrator doesn't know it, I have to try by me even, by following the instructions on the Microsoft support and various
forums. I have at first to think that the micro-USB port of my controler was broken, that is why I bought an other one second-hand. This time, the administrator re-knows it and names it " Xbox controler DFU " but impossible to use it on my Steams and Uplay.

I have then to connect the controler on my Laptop PC (under Windows 10) and it is the same story, the steam games do not recognize the controler...

Ps: I tried every usb port of my pc, 3 micro-usb cables different, to uninstall my driver and clear my condensator at the time of switch off my computer

By far the simplest way to use an Xbox One controller is to use a micro USB cable. Attach to the connector on your controller and any free USB port on your PC, and it'll automatically recognize it's there and you're good to go.

The first-generation controller and the Xbox Elite controller don't support Bluetooth, so to go wireless on your PC you'll need the dongle. Microsoft also has an official wireless dongle for Windows PCs that allows you to go wire free.

The redesigned model is much smaller than the original. Simply plug it in to your PC and connect your controller to is as you would the Xbox One, by holding down the pairing button on the top.

Sounds like the charging port/micro usb port on the controller is broken. So the controller is not getting enough charge and why it turns off immediately. But then you say it doesn't work with batteries also so the controller itself is broken then. Did
you check for corrosion?

It could be any of those 3 things mentioned. The play-and-charge cable might be broken, the micro usb port could be faulty, or a bad update. I had similar issues and in my case(s) it was the cable itself and also a bad update that broke one controller(only
worked when plugged in after update). I had received a replacement controller with a bad micro usb port as well, so test it on a spare controller.

It happens in all games using controller. Windowed or full screen. I tried my other xbox one controller, same results. I changed usb ports and micro usb cables. I cannot test bluetooth, none built into pc.
