    My xbox doesn't have sound


    My xbox sound worked just fine last night. I turn it on today, no sound at all. None of the apps, games, or the dashboard have sound. No welcome chime when I sign in. I used a new HDMI cable, still nothing. It's not the TV. I can watch that and hear it just fine.

    I understand your problem. It sounds like you're having problems with the sound on your Xbox. Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:

    Check your TV and HDMI connections: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Display & TV options. Select Video Fidelity and Overscan. Under Display, select HDMI

    Run the Audio Configuration Tool: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output. Select the Audio Settings option in Advanced Options. Highlight the audio setup option you want to use and then press the A button to begin the audio test

    Restart your console: To restart your Xbox console, press and hold the Xbox button on your controller until a dialog screen appears on the screen. Navigate to the Reset Console option by pressing A on your controller

    Really the only thing you can do and what is recommended is that you
    continue insisting with the Xbox team, explaining the situation in detail
    since they are the only ones who can help you because they do have access to
    the accounts and can see what possibly happened. . This forum is really not the
    most appropriate medium to discuss your topic, especially since we as players do
    do not have the tools to help you as it is a sensitive privacy and security issue.

    Still no Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround after update

    I did change to Bistream, then two choices are DTS surround sound and Dolby Digital.

    My Xbox 360 and PS4 have sound option which offers Dolby Digital 5.1, whereas XBox One doesn't. Based on that, makes me think it still doesn't process in 5.1 for DD.

    sounds like someone's been opening up there Xbox to mod it. I have the gears of war console and there's nothing loose on it actually its pretty solid it doesn't make creeking sounds like my old Xbox whenever I pick it up
