    My Xbox controllers will disconnect every few minutes randomly


    my Xbox controller keeps disconnecting randomly and then reconnect 5 to 10 seconds later I tried restarting and factory resetting nothing works it will do this for 3 to 4 days and then stop for a while and then start doing it again I've been having this issue for 3 years and haven't found a solution please help it does this on any controller not just the one

    Hello Hdkdhemevzlvelvysn, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your controller.

    This has been a known issue in the past but Xbox has released a fix for the issue. I haven't had a problem since the release of it. Have you tried checking if your controller needs an update via the Devices tab in the console Settings?

    A couple of other things you could try would be to use a micro USB cable to connect the controller to your console, this would mean you wouldn't need batteries anymore or, you could try holding the Sync buttons on both the controller and console for at least 60 seconds.

    The second step helped when my controller used to desync.

    having the same problem. it stays connected for a few minutes then randomly disconnects for no reason. can get back on right afterwards but it keeps repeating with the random disconnect after a few minutes.

    Chiming in. I have the same issue on win 7. Multiple controllers tested. It is a bug in the driver or something on windows side. Can we just get a patch for the issue. We are not the only one experiencing this and it makes playing games on pc impossible
    with controller.

    Hey there AngerManagement!

    Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to work your controller to game on your PC.

    If it's happening on different PC's then it would more than likely mean that either the adapter or the controller are the problem. If and when you can, I would see if you have the same problem if you try another controller and try the steps bother here on
    Troubleshoot the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows    , as well as the
    Xbox One Wireless Controller Solution     to make sure that both devices are functioning correctly.

    When you get a chance, give those things a shot and let us know if that helped out with the problem at hand.
