My Xbox controller's left analog stick is unresponsive in only the right direction.

I've had this controller (Which is a PDP model that is listed as being officially licensed by Xbox) for about six months now. Very suddenly it has begun to experience an issue where the left analog stick is unresponsive when I move it right. I am unsure if it is due to a sensor problem or just something getting in the way under the casing. I had attempted to open the casing and check myself but fear causing more damage by trying to look.

If someone could give me their opinion on the problem, and whether or not I should buy a new one, that would be extremely helpful.

When this type of problem occurs in a controller, it is usually due to something obstructing the contact of the parts involved or some disconnection of the controller circuitry. It is best to take it to a local third party technician who can help you better inspect the problem.

depending which country you are in you may want to check warranty, if in the uk you have 12 months warranty and should just contact PDP for replacement or take it back to the shop you purchased it from.

My left analog stick is looser than the right stick. I noticed that a couple of days ago. Figured it was because of COD. On my PS3 I went through 3 controllers with the left analog stick having issues. I had an issue with the controller on my 360 as well;
left analog stick. So it might be an issue not sure. I'll probably just buy another controller when they come out in different colors and go from there with it unless it gets worse.

I want to assume that you're describing a "drift" in the controller analog stick.

My very first controller experienced this after playing a lot of BF4. In order to run, you had to press down the analog stick, many times while holding the analog stick in a certain direction to keep moving.

If this is present the PC settings will show as if you're holding it down in a slight direction at all times when left sitting. You could attempt to have the controller replaced..... myservices.xbox.com
