My Xbox controller worked 10 minutes ago. Then I came back and it wouldn’t even turn on...

What type of controller do you have?

Have you already tried hooking up the controller through wired connection just to check if it still works?

I’ve tried that several times and it has not worked. My controller was working fine until a few days ago when my home button lost functionality bit by bit. First i couldn’t hold it down to bring up the options to turn off my controller then i wasnt able
to power on my console from my controller after that the controller wouldnt even turn on without plugging it into my xbox vis usb cable and even when it stayed on wireless the home button still wouldn’t work. i dont want to buy another controller in case its
a software issue instead of a hardware issue. HELP

Yes, I've tried it with multiple controllers. It is also fixed for 10 ish minutes if I reset my xbox, but not if I only turn it off and back on.

I'm curious, if you go back to where everything is working fine. Then hold down the Xbox button on the controller and choose the option to Turn controller off.

Do things work fine after that?

After 10 minutes, does the Xbox go back to the dimmed screen?
