My Xbox Controller Wireless Adapter wont connect to the controller or nothing

So I have my wireless adapter for my xbox one controller plugged into the side of my pc, and whenever I turn my chair it gets like move side to side (like im hitting it back and forth) and when it moved earlier today I heard a noise come from my headphones and now hours later I realized it stopped working, like the xbox symbol on it wont light up or the dot or nothing and im holding the button on the bottom of it and it just wont turn on, and whenever I try and turn on my controller all it does is just flash then a minute or so later stops flashing. What should I do?

Also try different controller (if you have any) Maybe the problem is in the adapter, if you wont be able to connect other controllers, the issue is maybe the Wireless adapter.

I dont think its any of those, the problem with it is it just stopped working after I heard that noise, and ive gone all through a bunch of things in my computer and its like its not even plugged into my computer but it is plugged in.

Is this an Xbox One controller, or an Xbox 360 controller? If it's an Xbox One controller, are you connecting wirelessly to the PC via Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter?

Because Xbox controllers use a proprietary wireless technology known as Xbox Wireless. As such you can't use any adapter to connect the controller, it has to be the Xbox Wireless adapter specifically.
