My xbox cannot play blu ray/4k blu ray discs anymore. (0xd0000189)

Hello fam,

My xbox one x wont play any blu rays anymore. Every time I try to pop one in it starts the blu ray app and I see an unmoving loading circle.

If I wait for a long time I get error 0xd0000189. Which is an unexpected error.

This doesn't happen with dvds for some reason. I've tried it with several blu ray discs, brand new and known goods. I've tried turning it off and turning it back on again, I've tried reinstalling the blu ray disc player app, I've tried soft resetting my
device, I've tried factory resetting the device. I don't hear any loud noises coming from the device and I've checked my internet connectivity.

For some reason I cannot get the folks over at xbox to call me back. So I'm at a complete loss here.

To be fair. It is a very hot day today with inside temps being around 30C ( 86f ) and outside temperatures being around 39C (102 f). Could it be a temperature issue? and if so, is my xbox permanently damaged?

Glad to hear you've been able to resolve the issue. To help prevent against this in the future, try making sure your console is in a well ventilated area or consider exterior cooling solutions if you suspect temperature to be at fault. If you believe your

The xbox works again. I guess it was the heat playing with the tolerances of the moving parts in the blu ray player.

Yeah, I've already tried the call me back function but unfortunatly every time i try I get "Sorry, we're having trouble connecting you. Feel free to try again or ask another question." so I guess I'm going straight for repair then. too bad I have to miss
my xbox for a while.
