My xbox account thinks it is a child account when it isnt.

Changing your Microsoft account birthdate does not change your Xbox profile birthdate. You could have changed your Microsoft account birthdate, but your Xbox profile still has a child birthdate.

If you are completely sure that you never changed your Microsoft account birthdate and it is an adult account now (which would make your Xbox profile be an adult profile too), then please check if there are other members on your family group:

This isnt working for me, when i use my parent account, it still says “Sorry, (child account) you’ll need to ask for permission.

It honestly sounds like Child One isnt signing out of their account and child two is signing into their account.

It would make sense for the hours if you think about it. More then one account can be signed in at a time.

It automatically assumes child one is playing just because the account is signed in

There isnt away to transfer or move achievements to a other account to aviod cheating. You can block certain things on a adult account in prviacy settings however has its a adult account your son will just be able to turn them back on when he likes. The
only way to set up child limts is on a child account

If your sons account isnt set up as a child account you cannot add parental settings
