My xbox account thinks I am still a child. How do I change it so that it knows I am an adult?

Your Xbox account age starts from the Date of Birth you entered when creating your profile online.

Once you hit 18, it becomes an adult account automatically. Just make sure your birthday on the account is correct.

If your Date of Birth is correct, try adding a payment method and billing information to your Microsoft Account.

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

You can add or edit payment options here.

If that still does not work, the best course of action is to contact Support and provide the necessary information to validate your date of birth.

hello, i understand there are problems with signing into child acounts on xbox live, i am not a child and would wish to change my account to an adult one , how do i do this?

I can't remember 100% but I am sure whoever set up the child account can change it. Like if you made an adult account on the xbox before making the child account that adult account can change wether the child account is a child account or and adult one.
I will just test this out myself now and post how it went

I am not trying to lock them out of my account (although they are using their own account). I am talking about the account settings can be simply changed from child to adult. Every account setting can be changed from within the child account.
