My Xbox account renewal my subscriptions without having money on the credit card.

Today I got the notifications that my 1-month Xbox Live Gold and 1-month Music Pass subscriptions had been renewal without me having any money whatsoever in my credit card?What happens with my credit card?How the hell did it renewal without me having a single
cent there?Wtf?

Gold subscription does not except prepaid cards.edit

I use a prepaid card to pay for my subscription but got an error code when trying to update my subscription. I contacted Tech support and apparently they do not accept prepaid Visa's etc. Microsoft I guess relies on the auto-renew featured a bank in for folks that forget to cancel or change subscription. Atleast my opinion. Apparently they need a bank card or credit card. I personaly don't trust banks or credit card companies for that matter. I thought about purchasing a subscription gift card. Yet a am afraid they will ask me for a credit card for auto-renew. If anyone has had this issue or have a work around let me know.Click to expand...

Use your pre paid card to get a gold sub online somewhere like cdkeys.com or gamedealdaily.com you will get it for a fraction of the cost of paying MS and you can turn off auto renew in the account settings of Xbox.com

I have credit card but I don't trust them because I gave them my credit card before and I took one month for 0.99 ok than after my month end I didn't play I was traveling they stole all my money and I didn't know. Every month they take money for new gold and no one play with my account. How is that possible ! Without my knowledge ?Click to expand... You have to turn off auto-renewal. Microsoft isn't stealing your money. It's called a subscription, and when you paid for that one month, you agreed to the terms. It lets you know that you're going to be charged again at the end of the month unless you cancel the auto-renewal.

That's how it works for nearly every service.

You would need to contact support and speak to billing for any assistance with this issue. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
support.xbox.com/contact-us

Unless you turn off auto-renewal, the system will attempt to charge the card you have on file whether it has money or not. It is up to you to either turn off renewal or update card information before renewals take place.

If I remove the credit card from the account will it still charge me or whenever I put money in it will they get eaten up till I get discharge the price?

You can't remove a payment method while it's attached to an active gold account. If they were unable to actually charge the card, they will continue to try taking payment. If they can't after a few tries, your account will be suspended until you pay off
the balance you owe. If you add a new card, the system may not automatically use that new payment method so you would have to contact support if it doesn't.

So no matter what I do I can't do anything with my card until I pay off the balance?Man that option is literally money stealing.I understand the idea of having your subscriptions renweal automatically but why have it active?It would make much more sense
to go at your account and activated it instead of having it turned automatically.Maybe someone didn't want to pay for the Music Pass for example and he didn't have the renewal off and there his 10$ go for something useless to him.Man I'm mad.

It is active because when signing an subscription you aggree to ne a subscriber for hr discount you got

It is upto you to uphold your end of the contract

Just like if you forgot to pay your waterbill

You have autobillinf and you have pay as you go

Autobilling is always easier and cheaper just like cellphones or internet

It would be really inconvienent to call every month to tell my water company i need water

Even then subscriptiobs cna be canceled but as per most consumer laws you have to notifiy your company when you want to cancel not the other way around
