So as I understand it from what you've said, he can play other games on Live but not GTA? And he can play the offline portion of GTA too but not the online portion? In that case it really sounds plausible that there is a ban in action against his account,
which would have come from the developers Rockstar (Xbox does not impose game-specific bans). Did he perhaps use a "glitch" or "exploit" or "cheat" recently to quickly get massive sums of money in online? If so, that could possibly be the reason.

Do you happen to have another Xbox Live Gold account? If yes and that account is able to play online from the same console without issue, then there is definitely something up with the specific account.

They are visa debit cards that is the type of card, I've always used the same type for Xbox payments, not pre-paid It is my personal normal use account capable of online, chip & pin and over the phone transactions, I also tried my girlfriends card which
is her personal account and works perfectly fine but still nothing, my friends on Xbox live do not show, I can't send messages & on the site it says I'm still a gold member, I want to know if I've been banned or what but this is really unfair I just wanna
play GTA online..

I did that, but isn't that just for banned account, does that affect console permanent ban?

Playing online multiplayer on xbox really makes me scary theres a lot evil people online. And I never playing online multiplayer games again after this
