    My Xbox account age is 26, but it's treated like a child account


    My account can't work without being linked to a Microsoft family, as in I can't play any games or do anything on my Xbox One, and I can't join Xbox Insider nor change my gamerpic to a custom one. It claims it's only for adult accounts, and I've contacted
    Microsoft twice about this to no avail. I'm not sure what to do.

    The other thing would be if your account is a child account in a family. These accounts will always be treated as a child account no mater what your age is.

    Removing parental control over a Gold Family member

    Family packs were designed for a family, such as a parent and 3 children. The primary is the "adult" account and the other 3 are considered "child" accounts. The child or secondary accounts are treated as "child" accounts no matter what the age is of the
    account holder. If you have a family pack made up with adults on the plan then 3 of them will be treated as "child" accounts.

    please double check your accounts birth date here:
    http://account.microsoft.com/profile/

    If that is wrong you can try and update it, it might not solve the actual issue, but it's a start.

    For some regions it will ask to add a credit card as verification, if that does happen then it might result in the account being promoted to Adult.

    once set an age of an account cannot be changed so if you changed the birthdate after creation that won't work and you cannot sign in till you reassociiate to a parental account

    The family pack is good but does come with the limitation that only one account is counted as "adult".
