My Xbox 360 refuses to read Halo 3

Hey guys,

I went to play some Halo 3 on my xbox 360 but it appears that whenever I put in the disc, it takes a long time to read then says that the disc is 'unreadable' or 'unrecognizable'. It then refuses to play no matter what I do. I've tried all the methods
on youtube, and the clear memory cache. None of it works. This is the only one of my games which I can't play.

Black Ops 2 Backwards comp won't install? Nothing wrong with disk?

Same problem for me. Disc reads in my 360 but the XB1 refuses to read it for some reason...

 

my xbox refuses to play halo 3

I recently aquired a used xbox 360 classic, and i have been putting it through its paces. I finally finished setting everything up the way i like it, only to find that it refuses to play one of my favorite games, Halo 3. It will play all of my other games
with no problems, so I do not believe that there is an issue with the disc drive. I have followed all the troubleshooting tips provided by this site to no avail. I even got a different copy of halo 3 and it too would not work. The console will play literally
every other disc in my collection, even dvds and original xbox games. I do not want any send it in for repairs answers, because the console is to old to be worth that kind of money. The only other info i have is the error i get, 03-80-00 and the fact that
when the drive tries to read this, and only this game, it makes a ticking noise. Also halo 3 is the oldest game I have in my collection. Please help.
