    My Xbox 360 no longer recognizes my DVD drive


    Hi,

    My Xbox 360 ne longer recognizes my DVD drive. When I insert a disc. a multilingual message pops up saying the drive is not recognized. It used to work. I have a number of DVD games loaded in storage. Now I cannot access what I paid for.

    Is there a solution? Thanks.

    I am experiencing a similar issue. I just updated my Xbox One and now it no longer recognizes my external hard drive at all.

    My Xbox 360 no longer recognizes my DVD drive

    Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    Hey @Genesis1953, that suggestion only works for Xbox One consoles, the OP is using a 360

    @Nicovarz - A power cycle will not work in this case. First, try the steps at this link Xbox 360 Can’t Read Disc | Xbox Can’t Read Disc | Xbox 360 Won’t Open If you're using
    an S or E console then you can contact phone support to see if they can do a repair on it. If it's an older FAT model then I'm afraid they are no longer covered for repairs. The number for North America phone support is 1-800-469-9269

    My PNY 128gb usb flash drive that was connected to my XBOX One when updated is no longer recognized by my TV's USB Media port either. It is still recognized by all my computers. This is saddening, luckily I have a 16gb Media drive that is still recognized
    by both.

    I've tried all types of formatting of the 128gb drive and nothing is working, kinda frustrating really!
