    My Xbox 360 has a hardware issue I can't identify, and I need help finding out what it is.


    Awhile ago I turned my Xbox on like normal and the sound of the disc spinning was higher-pitched than normal. I heard some weird noises and when I ejected the disk, it was cracked beyond repair. Now the 360 can't read any disks and whenever I put one in as a test I could here it rattling around inside. Does anyone know what the problem could be and if it can possibly be fixed?

    This thread is quite old. Do you have any issues you need any assistance with? If so, then please create a new thread. Users are encouraged to create their own threads so that the focus of support can be directed at the threads author.

    As for the red ring of death, it is used on the Xbox 360 as a problem identifier. Red lights can appear in different positions and scenarios (as well as error codes and prompts) and it helps to find what the root problems are in each instance. The Xbox One
    has a similar system and again, they are there just to help identify what the cause of the problem is.

    Possible to merge some of these stickies?

    Tem has my vote on this, they should remain separate and individual.

    A lot of people are having enough trouble finding what they need right now, to merge stickies together could possibly make a solution harder for the users having issues to identify and act on themselves.

    Better to have them in plain view where people can identify what they need easily.

    Have you taken a look at the Troubleshoot issues with an Xbox Wireless Controller support page? It could help you try to
    identify what could be causing this issue. First place I would check would be to see if the controller firmware needs updating.
