My x1 adapter is staying on mute and won’t unmute

i have this exact problem. The headset adapter is brand new (i just got my x1 tonight). I updated the default controller just fine, however, it doesn't matter if I'm using the default controller or my scuf. The headset adapter won't unmute itself. The little
orange light just continually stays on. I can hear game volume through my a40's just fine and I can hear everyone in party, but I'm muted. This is really frustrating.

I have tried everything listed on various forums. I've narrowed it down to the physical adapter. When I plug the standard x1 cheap mic into either controller (default or scuf), I can talk just fine and the mute / unmute works perfectly. When I plug the adapter
back in, the orange mute won't turn off.

It is happening again. No matter how many times you spam the unmute it stays muted. Xbox please fix this

This new system is actually bettercas it will notify you if a player on your blocked list enters the game lobby.

It will give you the choice to stay or leave.

Muting also does the same thing once you mute someone they stay muted forever (to you) until yiu unmute them..

You need to unmute the microphone, that is normally what that mute symbol means. But you can normally do that via adapter or on the chat mixer via the settings .

My headset is permanently stuck on mute. No matter what I do it will not unmute. Ive powered off the controller, pulled the adapter in and out, restarted the system...nothing fixes it. This all happened after the latest system update.
