Stumped! I typically use a wireless headset (Astro A50, Steelseries, & others). I have tried three wired headsets (VZR MOdel One, Corsair virtuoso Pro, etc) and I’m getting the same result.

I get game audio, but I don’t hear people and they don’t hear me. Huh?

Now, if I change my profile to my son’s, it works fine in party and game chat. Huh?

I’ve done tons of troubleshooting :

    • not muted on headset itself
    • mic is ON in audio settings and party chat
    • controller menu settings are good - volume, game-voice balance, mic monitoring
    • Privacy settings seem fine
    • Controller update with headset plugged in
    • Controller assigned to account
    • Tried several controllers (standard, elite, scuf)
Wireless mics work fine. Wired mic (headset plugged into controller) works when I change profiles. Wired mic won’t work on MY profile! It has to be something on my profile, but what? Stumped

    :)

My Wired headset(s) mic(s) won’t work with one Xbox Account, but fine with others, and wireless are fine.

Hello ADAM F, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you.

Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems.

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through. I was researching in one of the Microsoft forums and found this article (https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/12c127c8-dfa0-4c87-abf8-9885feb52860)">https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/12c127c8-dfa0-4c87-abf8-9885feb52860) Gerardo C. independent advisor , shows that the solution to the problem can be solved by following these steps:

"Please try to solve the problem by doing the following procedures so we rule out that it is a software problem:

    1. In your console settings go to the "Account" section and select the "Delete accounts" option and choose the account you use, that will delete your profile from the console but you will not lose any data from it, don't worry .

    2. With the Xbox on, press the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds until it turns off completely.

    3. Unplug the power cord from the console and wait 30 seconds.

    4. Reconnect the power cable to your console and turn it on normally.

    5. Then add the account back to your console so that all your profile information is downloaded again, it won't take long.

    6. Check if the problem persists, if so, please reset your console to its factory settings, keeping your games and applications as follows:

Go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console > Reset and keep games and apps.

This way your console will be reconfigured and you will have to add your account again. No game or application will be deleted, nor will you lose the progress of any game since these are saved in the Xbox Cloud.

    7. Check if the problem persists."

Thank you for your patience, I hope everything can be resolved. I will be attentive to your response. Blessings.

    Sincerely,
    Oskayra.

    Headset Mic

    Hi Ronnie,

Yep done all that, I can hear fine with my Wired and Wireless pairs of headphones on different Controller's.

It's just the mic's don't work with either setup.

I have just swapped over from an Xbox one to an Xbox series s??

Everything was working fine on my Xbox one?????

    Cheers Ron.

    Is the tritton warhead compatible

The "mic" you're referring to is the boom mic that plugs into the headset.

The mic I'm referring to is the chat system that allows one to talk to other players. Normally, that's supported by a wired mic cable that goes from the 360 controller to other headsets. On all other 360 headsets, a cable is required from the base of the
360 controller to the headset for chat. Even the wireless Astro A50 has a mic cable port to go to the 360 controller.

On the Tritton Warhead, that's all done wirelessly, same as the Microsoft Wireless Mic for 360 works. Tritton integrated the wireless mic into the headset base unit so that the headset can be completely wireless - no wired mic cable going to the controller.

It's the wired mic cable that the Tritton Warhead lacks that is the problem. There will be no way for the Warhead's base unit to sync its wireless mic with the Xbox One.

If all you want to do is use the Warhead as a wireless headset without a mic, it will be fine. If you want mic support, it won't.

Why is my Xbox One headset adapter not working? I bought the proper cable adapter with it.

Hmm I have x12's that work fine. I had to play with mine and balance the dial on the headset and the balance on the adapter. Does yours have the USB plugin like the x12's for the mic?
