My wired controller won't turn on. on my xbox but work on my brother xbox

It seems that you are having issue with your wired controller when it is connected to your own Xbox console while it works on different console. Let us help you get to the bottom of this.

If we may ask, what type of Xbox controller are you using? Is it the Xbox controller that came along with Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One controller?

It's possible that there may be an issue with the USB port on your Xbox console. Have you tried plugging the controller into a different USB port on your console? If that doesn't work, you can try resetting your Xbox console by holding down the power button for 10 seconds until it turns off, then turning it back on.

On the other hand, you can check if there is available updates for the firmware of your Xbox console. Follow the steps below:

• Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  
• Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
  
• Under Updates, you'll see:
  Console update available. Select this to begin your update.
  No console update available. This means your console is up to date.

I am having this problem as well. It seems anytime the controller is turned off, it unpairs with the console, and the only way to get it to respond again is a hard reset. Plugging it in as a wired controller won't work either. My brother told me he's having
the same issue. We didn't have this problem until we played Forza Horizon 2.

The leads are perfect i borrowed my brothers xb1 and it worked perfect. The controllers can't turn the xbox on or off and have to hold my finger over the sensor to turn it off as any other way doesn't work.

Hey I'm back and the swap batteries worked and synced up with my Xbox but when I try to play with my brothers the controller would turn off and when we would turn it back on the buttons stop working but the triggers and joystick still work.
