  1. My Verification code is not being accepted after a suspicious activity notification.

I am trying to recover my account after I had a suspicious activity notification and I have access to the email, phone number, and passwords associated with the account. However, every time I try to log into the account and put in the security code I get the error "Please request a new security code and try again. All previous codes have been invalidated". I have no clue why I can't properly use the two-factor authentication, and why even the system if Microsoft just rejects the codes they send me. I have tried logging in using my Xbox, phone, and computer and receive the same message every time.

    :)

My Verification code is not being accepted after a suspicious activity notification.

Hello Preston, this is Manuela. I'm an Independent Advisor and community user like you, ready to assist with this.

    Not a Microsoft employee.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having some trouble when requesting verification codes from Microsoft.
I encourage you to wait up to 24 hours before trying to access your account.

Meanwhile, I take the opportunity to share this article that may be useful when you try to request and use a code again:

Lastly, please be aware, in the community forums, it is not possible to review account information, and Microsoft support is not capable of sending password reset links to you.

    Forced to change password

    Hello Blues Guy,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Does the issue of getting suspicious activity message happened when you signed in with your Xbox 360 or you are having difficulty signing in to your Xbox 360 when two-step verification method is used?

If using Microsoft authenticator app will stop getting suspicious activity notification, let us know so we can move forward.

We look forward to your response.

    Sincerely,

Account not able to make purchases

What's getting me - there is no mention of what the suspicious activity was and if my information is safe. There's no way to resolve it - no one to speak to - just that there was a thorough review about some suspicious activity. Again, I have no idea what could have happened to turn off the ability to purchase anything. I've since added two-step verification, changed my password again and deleted all my payment methods.

How do can I sign into my Xbox account?

I am not wishing to reset my password or alter security information. I simply wish to use my account. I have spend thousands of dollars over the years on this account and have too much time spent grinding games to give up on it like this. As soon as I got the notification that this unusual activity was detected I checked my banking account and saw no money being spent that wasn’t me. So if there is suspicious activity can’t they tell what it is and I say “yes that was me, or not” using my password and all the other information I have to tell them “it’s me” as verification. I’m sorry, I understand that’s not how this works but I’m not giving up on my account like this

Password forgotten and 2 step verification on

You're correct that is if you know the password, however, you're in the process of resetting it when you needed to update your security information since you don't know the password, you will be able to sign in once your security information is updated, that is where the verification code will be sent when you will reset your password.

Within this 30-day period, a code or notification is being sent to your original security information, if no one will validate or verify the notification being sent there after 30 days your new security information will be updated.
