    My Ultimate upgrade did not upgrade my existing subscription - (Update : can be resolved)


    Hi there, I am a bit new to this so I dont know what has happened.

    I got my console setup today and redeemed a 12 month Live Gold code to my account so it was online, I saw the Ultimate upgrade option and checked it and it seems that I could upgrade my active 12 months of Live Gold using the offer, as it would change those
    12 months to Ultimate for the offer price of £1, with the standard charges starting after the 12 months was over.

    I took the offer on but all that happened was my 12 months of Gold that was on the account has vanished and I am left with 1 month of Ultimate with the standard recurring charge starting in 30 days. Have I just lost those 12 months of time and paid £41 for
    1 month of a £10.99 a month service?

    I am a little upset as I have only just started gaming and this is feeling somewhat harsh.

    Update - Support have kindly explained that this is a known issue and is being worked on and can be resolved. I will leave this post up to reflect this if anyone else is affected or concerned.

    Game pass Ultimate confusion

    If you purchase Game Pass Ultimate, it will upgrade your existing subscriptions to ultimate anyway, and cancel the ones you have.

    I did mine through paying for my gold subscription then going into games pass and upgrading to the ultimate package from there

    If you were automatically upgraded, you would need to contact support and speak to billing to see if they can see why that happened, because it shouldn't have. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us The
    only way it's supposed to upgrade is if you purchase Ultimate (if you purchased the $1.00 offer that is for Ultimate) or you already had Ultimate and are adding gold or game pass to Ultimate. The upgrade exists because Ultimate already includes those subscriptions.
    Otherwise, purchasing Gold, Game Pass for PC, or Game Pass for Console individually should not upgrade you to Ultimate automatically.

    Game pass ultimate refunded for $18. It also canceled regular game pass for a seperate charge of $9.99

    When you add Ultimate to an existing subscription, that original subscription is cancelled and upgraded to Ultimate as well. Once it's converted, you can't revert back to the original subscription and it is no longer eligible for a refund since it was already cancelled.
