    My TV is now not showing 120hz available even though it was running 120hz two days ago.


    The other day before MW3 was released I put my TV settings at 120hz. Now it is saying after taking my Xbox somewhere else and then plugging Xbox back into original 120hz TV it says 120hz is unavailable and I can't understand why? Can someone help please

    No. your TV display needs to support 120hz to get 120hz from the Xbox,

    your TV is limited to 60hz, so that all you'll get, unless you upgrade your TV to one that a true 120hz display.

    There's no possible way to get a 60hz display to run at 120hz.

    Hi,

    It's because your TV isn't 120Hz. TV's with true 120Hz support have HDMI 2.1, your TV is 2.0b. The console may be mistaking this TV's Frame Interpolation as a 120Hz mode, but it isn't.

    There's no way to get 120Hz on that TV. And, even if you could, it would be horrible without Variable Refresh Rate tech.

    Some TVs report the incorrect display information to your console, meaning sometimes 120Hz will show even if it's not supported. Despite this, there are no games that can run at 120fps on Xbox One S.

    The Xbox One X simply isn't powerful enough to output pretty much any game at 120Hz, the console will be sending out a 120Hz image, but that doesn't mean that the game will be running at 120Hz.

    Its like setting your console to 1080p but displaying on a 4K TV, the TV still shows a 4K image, but that's because the image has been up-scaled to fill the 4K screen.

    There are plenty of 4k tv's on sale right now.

    Walmart has a Samsung 50" 4k TV for for $248.

    I've always had Samsung tv's and I'm quite enjoying my 85" 4k Q90T Samsung I got 2 years ago. It runs 4k at 120hz and looks amazing.
