    Xbox formats for her tv's

hdr10 is an open standard and the only HDR standard used for games, the default hdr standard for video content, this is what Xbox uses. Their are other niche hdr formats but nothing that competes with hdr10 as the basic standard.

hdr10 is the most common format supported by TV's, if a TV doesn't work then it requires manual configuration to enable whats often referred to as UHD Color of which there is nothing Xbox can do to change as it's a TV side setting.

If hdr still doesn't work then the TV maker has not done any device testing to ensure compatibility and I would avoid such a brand.

Xbox requires a display with 10-bit panel to display HDR, you will not get it without that. If there is no 10-bit panel then 8-bit output is limited to 4k SDR output.

Fake HDR via 8-bit is not supported, 12-bit is for Dolby Vision they are only ones who use it and if you have a DV display it should support 10-bit to begin with.

Xbox one x not detecting hdr10 sony x800e

Oh, by the by, I found it under external inputs.
I'm having the same issue with my 900E. I just tried your fix, and that setting did need to be enabled, but the X still isn't recognizing HDR10.

Under "Watching Movies & TV" it says "Your TV supports 4K 10-bit at 24hrz" and "Your TV supports HDR video"

Under "Playing Games" it says "Your TV setup does not support HDR10 for gaming. Games will not be shown in HDR."

I have also manually enable HDR10 in the TV settings. Not sure what else to do.

Ask about if aoc c27g2zu monitor work with xbox series s.

    Hello Taim Al Jawhari,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

To see if your TV supports 4K and HDR (High Dynamic Range), refer to the packaging or manual for your TV. Different manufacturers use different names.

    • Names for 4K: 4K, 4K Ultra HD, UHD, UHD 4K, SUHD TV, Ultra HD, Ultra UDTV, 2160p
    • Resolutions or modes: 3840 x 2160 at 24Hz, 50Hz, or 60Hz
    • Names for HDR: HDR10, Dolby Vision. Depending on your TV, these might be referred to as HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range, HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color
Even on TVs that support 4K and HDR, some inputs might support only lower resolutions. Refer to your TV’s manual to see which input will be best for your Xbox.

Note that viewing 4K and HDR might require you to adjust your TV’s settings or update its firmware. Some video apps also support Dolby Vision. Most TVs that support Dolby Vision will also support HDR10, so for the best HDR experience, enable both on your Xbox. However, if your TV supports Dolby Vision but not HDR10, you’ll get HDR from your Xbox only while viewing apps that use Dolby Vision.

Is there a bug with the xbox one s detecting hdr10 ?

Also folks as I've posted before

Because a TV is HDR, it doesn't automatically mean it's HDR10. Best to phone your TVs support folks and double check.

If they confirm its HDR10 compatible then it's just a case of making sure the right settings on both console and TV are enabled.

Also check if your TV needs updating. I know certain Samsung models from 2015/16 were not HDR10 but with an update there were

Unfortunately if your TV isn't HDR10 ( could still be HDR ) then it won't be able to use all Xbox One Slim features, HDR10 gaming etc

    Good luck
