    My thoughts and feed back for the new home screen in the Skip Ahead


    While the appearance of the home screen has changed slightly I do not like it as a whole. While I do like that they have updated the main home Bar/Tabs with a permanent and more distinguishable icon button for the my games and apps as well as the store. The main issue that annoys at least me and maybe some others is bottom section by getting rid of the users custom pins and replacing it instead with Gamepass section. While I am a Gamepass user and its basically the old Gamepass page layout from the app as well as the old days from when we had different Tabs or blades or what ever you wanted to call them. I hardly ever used that the game pass page to look at games under each category they use I usually go to the Gamepass quests see what i have to do or see the whats new page to see if anything interesting pops up. Specially if I have to give up the custom pins its a waste of space considering at least for me the first section pin I have is my Group games and I mainly play if this is the case and they are only keeping the custom groups in the My Game and Apps section then their isn't really a point to having a the custom groups if I'm just going to go to the main section where all of my games or apps are located at.



    I know constantly hearing people who just complain with out any other input is annoying so I do have some ideas of alternatives or other options that at least i wouldn't mind seeing.

    1. Back to the tabs.
      1. This may not be the best or well liked idea but I thought I just throw it out there and get it over with. Bringing back the tabs so that the next tab to the right is the Gamepass tab or if you want a faster access to it create a tab or screen on the left.
      2. Or IF the Gamepass has to be on the front screen now as to try and push for more subscriptions then at least create a tab or screen to the right or left for custom pins
    2. The compromise
      1. Keep the top section for the Gamepass but put the sections in small icons or tiles that will take you to the section as normal and below that have the normal custom pins as is.

    I have the latest BETA (not alpha, etc) and I still didn't get the new dashboard!

    The new home its for some Alpha skip ahead, but dont worry a certain point the beta ring will have access.

    Hi,

    I understand your frustration, everyone on Alpha Skip Ahead now has the new home screen experiment and 50% of the users in alpha ring have it these were chosen at
    random and nothing to do with level and XP.

    Within the next two weeks, everyone on alpha ring will have the new home screen, the reason that only 50% of users got it was for A/B testing to compare how like-minded insiders use the old home screen compared
    to the new one to see what features can be removed or moved to another position on the home screen.

    Even though it might seem that you are not getting the latest features and that you are not helping but that's not the truth you are making Xbox the best experience to play.

    NHL GameCenter Constantly Crashes (10/18/2014)

    Update: These crashes only seem to be happening with the NHL app on Xbox One, but not Xbox 360. I've turned on my old Xbox 360 and have been able to watch that same feed just fine without the application crashing back to the home screen.

    On the Xbox One the NHL App crashes back to my home screen after a couple of minutes of watching.

    black screen Xbox One X

    Hi there, I'm not sure if it's the same issue, but I always get a black screen on my Xbox. It will randomly happen when I'm scrolling through my Community Feed, or sometimes during a game, or sometimes when I'm browsing the Store. If I go on my Xbox 5 days
    during any given week, I will get a black screen randomly at some point about 2 out of 5 of those days.

    Like I said, I'm not sure if this is the same issue you're having, but what I do is simply press the Home buttton on the controller. Although the screen will be completely black, if I press the Home button, the side bar will still pop up on the left of the
    screen. Then I can press Home and it will reload the Home screen fresh. The only bad thing is that if you're in the middle of a game, or in the middle of scrolling down on your Community Feed, this is like a complete refresh of the Home screen so you will
    be kicked out of the game or your feed, or whatever you're doing. But, it enables you to start again at the Home screen, without having to actually turn off your Xbox and turn it back on again. I do hard resets every day on my console as well when I turn it
    off, but these black screens still happen.

    So I would suggest trying to press the Home button when it happens, and hopefully it will still pop the side menu up, and you can select Home from there. If this isn't the issue, and doesn't work, then I'm sorry about that and good luck with fixing the problem.
    I just thought I would mention it as I have a "black screen" issue regurly myself and this is how I get around it. :)
