My son's Microsoft account was hacked

It looks like my son's gmail account was hacked and the hacker used that to hack his microsoft/xbox account. Within 7 minutes (while he was sleeping), he received emails about a new security code, a password change, adding new emails and phone numbers, then deleting his email and phone number. How does he get back in? He has the email address of the person that hacked it through his authenticator app and he is still logged into the xbox app on his phone.

My sons account was hacked this AM caught it in time.....changed passwords, notified Paypal, Bank, etc...and called Microsoft...............................about $200 worth

This happened to my son someone hacked his account and I have been battling microsoft for 5 days trying to get his account back! They keep saying someone will contact me and that has not happened.

A friend of mine had this same issue recently. He was told that his account had been locked but he saw a whole bunch of new games played on his list. I don't know how their account locking works but it doesn't seem to work all that well.

it might not be giving passwords out to strangers....I had my account hacked about a year ago.....nothing was played but stuff was purchased with my MS points it took I think a week but I couldnt get online for that time. Im 29 now and I know better not
to give out that info so they got it by some other means

the thing that happened was when I noticed the purchases for fable and another game (cant remember) I called em up and asked what time and day it was purchased. They told me it was on XX/XX/XXXX day and at 7:XX time I told the lady at that time I was on
the highway about a hour outta town. She asked me if anyone can turn on my console and purchase it...I said, my wife could have IF she even knew how to turn on the console and even access the marketplace, plus she was with me on the road so I know for a fact
that she didnt do it

anywho, for some reason they can still get access even if you dont give out your password like in my case but who knows on yours
