My sons account was hacked

Hi, my boys account was hacked by someone on xbox fortnite game and he's lost all his items in the game that cost me money. They've also locked him out of that fortnite/xbox account and also stolen his email which I made.

I contacted Microsoft about this and it's the auto reply of answering some questions. I've added as much as possible and it keeps saying I've not answered enough questions. It feels like its a Bot reply from Microsoft and I can't seem to find a phone number for customer services.

The hacker is from the US and I and the email address is clearly UK.

Surely Microsoft can tell the account has been hacked and password changed by checking the IP address?

I've accepted Microsoft don't want to help me, but I've now ran into another issue and that is my boys Apple iWatch won't work unless I add a code they've sent to the email address and of course I don't now have access to the email.

The hacker changed the hotmail account password and when I want to change it back it only tells me I can do it with st*****@icloud.com I don't own that email address and I'm guessing it's that hacker that's put that email on the account.

Can I get any help on this as it's easily seen the account has been used in the US, but I'm in the UK and my unusual surname was created in the UK.

My boys only 10 and believed the guy was helping him within the fornite game.

A friend of mine had this same issue recently. He was told that his account had been locked but he saw a whole bunch of new games played on his list. I don't know how their account locking works but it doesn't seem to work all that well.

it might not be giving passwords out to strangers....I had my account hacked about a year ago.....nothing was played but stuff was purchased with my MS points it took I think a week but I couldnt get online for that time. Im 29 now and I know better not
to give out that info so they got it by some other means

the thing that happened was when I noticed the purchases for fable and another game (cant remember) I called em up and asked what time and day it was purchased. They told me it was on XX/XX/XXXX day and at 7:XX time I told the lady at that time I was on
the highway about a hour outta town. She asked me if anyone can turn on my console and purchase it...I said, my wife could have IF she even knew how to turn on the console and even access the marketplace, plus she was with me on the road so I know for a fact
that she didnt do it

anywho, for some reason they can still get access even if you dont give out your password like in my case but who knows on yours

Yes the email and password was changed. So I cant sign into anything.

Oh yes, it does happen for sure. but most of the time its either phishing or giving password to someone (ie so they can boost for you)

You should discuss with your son giving his password to strangers.
