My son is unable to play my games when signed into his account on a different console...

Does it matter who installs the game? Me, my oldest son, and my youngest son all have different accounts but we belong to the same family account.

My oldest son uses the Home console and signs into that console with his own account. My youngest son has his own console and signs into that console with a different account. If my oldest son installs the game on the Home console will my youngest son be
able to see the game on his own console while signed in with his account? Or does my oldest son have to sign on to both consoles?

just to be sure, are you both using different accounts? So you use your account and your son uses his account when trying to play the game?

Also make sure that your account isn't signed in on the console that your son is playing on.

If your son's console is set as you're account's home console you do not need to be signed into it for the games and Live to be shared.

Double check when you are signed in on his console that your account has it marked as your home console. Steps can be found at https://support.xbox.com/games/game-setup/my-home-xbox.

Thats what i thought. My sons xbox is definetly set as my home xbox.

we powered on and it signed my son in, but couldnt play as games until i re-signed in.

My console in the front room is set as home on my account with xbox live. I can log in and play but can't play my sons games that he downloaded. On his console. Different account. Unless I log in on his account.

When before we both had access to this game and played together. 1 game 2 consoles.

I goto my sons room. He has no xbox gold and can't play games that I have downloaded and paid for when before we could. He also cant sign into gold and play online unless I pay for gold. For 2nd time.

I find all this very confusing. Surely it should just detect ip and share content without all this confusion.

So how does this work? Do I want my youngest son's console to be the home console? Then when logged in as my oldest son on the home (youngest son's)console, download the game to the youngest son's console? Then let my oldest son go back to his console
and have him download the game to that console too?

Then would my oldest be able to play his game on his own console (not the home console) with my youngest son also playing it on a different (home)console, with each kid logged in as themself?
