My son is able to skip time restrictions on Xbox

Hello. I restricted screen time on Xbox for my son, but he was able to use Xbox beyond time limits by creating a new account and using it.

Do you know if it is possible to make time restriction working even if he creates a new account?

Screen limits for parent account

Hi - I set up screen time restrictions for my son on Xbox, however, he was playing under my gamertag due to content restrictions so now the screen limit restrictions aren't working. Am I able to put screen limits on a parent account? I was going to push
him back to his gamertag, but we have spent a lot of money under mine and don't want to start over. I just recently found out about screen time limits, so now I'm trying to retrofit everything. Hoping you have another suggestion! Thanks

Associate gamertag with different family member

I am interested to put time restrictions on my childs use of the XBOX.

I have two family members in my account. Myself (adult) and one other (child).

Problem is, the gamertag being used by my son is tied to Myself. Since I am an adult, the time restrictions are not available.

Is there anyway to move the gamertag from Myself to Other family member? OR Is there anyway to set time restictions for myself (adult account)? Either of these will work for me

I don't want to force my son to create a new gamertag just so I can set time controls.

Time restriction features only work if the new profile is added as a "child account" to your main account.

IMO, you should just take the Xbox away if he's going to flagrantly break your rules.

I had the same issue where my son would skip sign in after his time was up.

The way to solve this, go to Signed-out content restrictions, create a guest key, and then this will unlock the “Access to content” setting. Here you say what is allowed when someone skips the sign in.

Set it to Restricted and voil - they can’t access any games whilst signed out

My son has a paid xbox live gold subscription and I am able to download the free xb1 games under it including the rated M ones because I do not have content restrictions set.

Are you saying there is some special restriction that you can't download the free xbox 360 games under a child xbox live gold account?

If your son has a child account and it isn't 13 years of age then he will not be able to play that game online. It is not a restriction with XBL/MS but rather a restriction put in place by EA.

Hi there,

You are able to create another family with one of your other accounts and then move the one your son is currently using into that family as a child. You would be able to setup screen time restrictions to that account at that point.
