    Can Microsoft switch it back? I don't feel like it's fair for me to have to pay $10 for me to have it rolled back to what it was. This was not an action I took and my son thought he was changing HIS gamertag... not mine.

    Unfortunately for you, you are responsible for anything that happens with your account. They will probably not help you since your account was left accessible to other users. Most likely, you will just have to pay to change it to a tag that you want.

    While logged in in Xbox.com click on this link
    live.xbox.com/.../GamerProfile

    Type in the new Gamertag and click on the Change Gamertag link.

    This process is not free, it will cost you 800 Microsoft Points.
