    My Son can’t play online multiplayer games with shared gamepass ultimate subscription


    Hi, we have an Xbox series X and I have a game pass ultimate subscription. My son is a member of my family with all the privacy settings set to allow him to play online. The Xbox is set as a Home Xbox and he can access game pass games and download them. When he tries to play online in games like Minecraft, it says his account settings are preventing him from doing so this is also the same with FIFA. Any epic games titles (Fortnite, rocket league) Work with no issues, allowing him to play online multiplayer.

    Does anyone have any ideas what this might not be working?

    Hi,

    first of all free2play games like fortnite don't need a sub to play online.

    You should check if his account or any other than yours is set to home console as well.

    Your account has to be the ONLY account to be set as home console or sharing doesn't work.

    My friend game shared me game pass ultimate but I can’t access any perks from EA Play, and it says would I like to join ultimate. I can download games but not the perks. I was able to download perks before but I can’t now.
    sharing an account with Ultimate membership only allows other users on the console to access the gamepass games and the online multiplayer of games with gold, if previously you could use the advantages of EA play of That account, probably a Bug occurred because the benefits are only for the account with the subscription and not for the other accounts in the console

    Beware of trying to obtain benefits from a shared account to your personal account, it can be understood as bad practices.

    Why whenever i try to join a game at the neighbourhood in 2k it ends up showing me options to buy a gamepass but i bought 2k directly from the microscoft store I even can show a video for proof

    If "The Neighbourhood" is a online multiplayer mode, you need to have an active Gamepass Core or Gamepass Ultimate subscription to play online. It does not matter where you bought the game from, all paid games on Xbox require a Gamepass subscription to play online. Free to play games do not require a subscription to play online.

    Live and gamepass are two separate subscriptions ones for games other for playing multiplayer online best to order (Gamepass Ultimate) it combines both.

    As long as you have a gold subscription or Game Pass Ultimate, then you can still play online multiplayer games.

    Gold: Play online

    Gamepass: play available library of games

    Gamepass Ultimate: Play available Library & Online

    Gold/Gamepass/Neither: play games you own locally
