    My son can’t play multiplayer on Minecraft.

    I tried changing the settings on my Microsoft account but it hasn’t worked.

    Any ideas?

    Yes, Minecraft is an online multiplayer game so if he's playing on an Xbox console, he needs to have Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate.

    If you want to change your son's Privacy Settings, make sure to add his account to your Family Group as a MEMBER and not as an organizer. Once you add his account as a MEMBER, you can change his Privacy Settings by signing in to your account at https://account.xbox.com/en-us/Profile?xr=mebar.... Make sure that all settings under the Privacy tab and Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety are set to "Allow" or "Everyone". It should be like the screenshot below.

    Also, make sure to set these settings to "Allow" or "Everyone".

    - You can see and upload community creations

    - You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

    - Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

    NOTE: If he's playing on Xbox console, make sure that he has an active Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Unfortunately the cross platform option also doesn’t seem to be working for me - maybe because the account I linked is in my sons name (age 12)? It says multiplayer/cross platform is restricted in settings. I’ve tried to amend his MS account settings but to no avail - so that’s another issue I’m having!

    Do you know if I am able to unlink my sons Microsoft account from the PS4 and link it to his switch instead? I’ve heard issues whereby once an account is linked to a PS 4 it can’t be unlinked.

    I’m having nothing but problems!!

    UPDATE - managed to sign out of the PS4 MS account in minecraft and then signed in on the Switch with the same account - so the 1720 coins are now at least on the switch.

    So I guess my next challenge is to somehow unlock the multiplayer/cross platform settings in my sons MS account. At least we then have the option of signing in and out of the 2 platforms.
