My shadow meter has transformed into some other kind of bar? I'm confused... Picture ...

I've looked every where for an answer, I did all the tutorial lessons, and yet i still have no answer. sometimes when I'm playing my shadow meter turns into some completely different new kind of bar.

It has many little boxes that light up, that range from (on the right most side of the bar) green to red. these boxes fill up as It seems I get hit or I do combos. I'm just upset I can't find a friggen explanation about it, I would like to know what the
hell is happening to my regular shadow meter!

Look at the picture, its at the bottom left of the screen (hard to make out sorry)

anyways its not the normal shadow meter (my oponent on the right has that at his bottom screen)

the little x mark near the top left of the bar spins like crazy when I do combos or get my *** kicked, too bad I dont know what any of this means cuz I cant find out what it is even called

I can't seem to even get the old one back, i'm stuck with this bar every time I play. I looked under settings to see if there is something I toggled, but nothing concerning the shadow meter was an option.

Strunks is right. Both are legit games that require skill. To say that one has any more credentials than the other in terms of "skill" is an arbitrary argument based on opinion and perspective.

Exactly! Some of the most memorable moments from ANY games is the deaths of main characters, except for Halo. Well other than Jorge (Got tingles the first time I played that... powerful stuff).

Final Fantasy 7, Aries dying made me cry. Literally. That's the first time I'd ever felt any emotions while gaming, so it took me by surprise and just overwhelmed me. Like a baby!

In the beginning of Crysis 2 (Literally the very beginning, so it's not a spoiler) the main character who was wearing the Nanosuit before you shoots himself because he was infected and wanted to save the world by giving you the suit and continuing his legacy.
That game's beginning and ending gave me extreme chills.

Mass Effect 1/2. What even has to be said? It's a little too much story focused and forgets it's a videogame from time to time, but still. That's a story that is amazing.

Call of Duty has many of these moments, even if they're stolen from movies. When the nuke goes off and you're walking around looking at the destruction, slowly dying. Or when you and that Ghost guy are both shot by your commander and burned alive together.
That's the kinds of things that make the campaigns great, albeit very short, they still have some pretty powerful moments that stick with you.

I'm definitely not talking about Gears of War type violence though. Over the top, almost comical. No emotion behind those games when someone gets blown to bits. It's just another Monday or Tuesday or whatever.

Halo: Reach brought the gameplay for sure though. 343i is the luckiest gaming company in the world. They hardly have to make any changes to the foundation that Bungie built and it'll be a best seller. 343i's real challenge is going to be making a new story
arc and making a freaking EPIC campaign.

Don't let the other team build five bars of meter and snap her in at some point then.

If the problem is distance, it would be a good idea to see latency bars or some kind of lag meter in the game. Then we would say, "Your bar is red. You are going to keep lagging out if you play here." Or, have the option to set a minimum connection requirement.

Unable to attach a picture for some reason so added to Imgur to show you what I mean. It's same kind of issue in the other games mentioned. I have sold COD WW2 and Shadow of War otherwise I would take more photos.

@aCruzin had it right but it goes that way for if you block first or not. You can press MP + MK on either the first hit of a shadow move (massively hard timing) or the last hit of the shadow move (much easier timing). You must have at least a bar of shadow
meter yourself to be able to do it. If you get caught in the move without blocking when you shadow counter you still negate almost all of the potential damage applied and take almost no damage.
