Thanks. But when I plug the SSD into the Xbox, it shows that an external HDD has been inserted. When I open the setup and go to storage, I can't format it. The Xbox is up-to-date. The SSD is in perfect working condition. I tried everything: 1) I quickly and regularly formatted the disk in a Windows 11 PC, using both xFat and NTFS; 2) I also deleted the partition to see if something happened when connecting the SSD in the XBox; 3) I also tried to create the partition without formatting it and connecting the SSD in the XBox; 4) I connected the SSD in every single USB port of the XBox. But it never gives me the chance to format it. It always shows that the disk can be used for storing media only.

you must use your Xbox to format it otherwise you can only use it for media

The only 2 options right now are the Seagate cards, which come in 512GB, 1TB or 2TB sizes, and the Western Digital WD_Black C50 cards, which come in 512GB or 1TB sizes.

When it comes to external HDDs and SSDs, you can store any game on one, but whether the game will run from one depends on if it's optimised for the Series X/S or not. If it is, it will only run from the internal SSD or one of the expansion cards. If it's not, it will run from the external drive. Obviously, pretty much all new games are gonna be optimised for the X/S consoles.

There is not a single game over 1TB even with DLC, the largest game i have seen is 178GB and thats with all video cutscenes.

the storage options that im aware of are 1TB only, series x games will need to run on the ssd, xbox one games and 360 games can still run from an external hdd to my knowledge.
