It's not viewable on PC. You need to use an Xbox app on mobile to view them.

Since you just enabled the automatic update, I suggest to wait for few hours and let your captures get uploaded to the Xbox network. Then check on the Xbox app on mobile if your missing screenshots were uploaded successfully.

I see. Did you use an external drive to save your clips? If so, make sure that it's working.

Try to power cycle as well your console. Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

When was the last time you were able to see your old screenshots?

Were they successfully synced or uploaded to Xbox network and accessible through your Xbox app on mobile?

Please note that any game clip or screenshot uploaded to the Xbox network that gets no views in 30 days will be deleted. Viewing it yourself counts as a view and saves a capture from deletion.
