    My satellite tv remote keeps turning on my Xbox one console


    My satellite tv console/recorder (in Australia called Foxtel) uses a bluetooth remote control. When I use that remote it turns on the xbox one console as well. They are situated side by side under the tv.

    How do I stop this happening?

    The Xbox One doesn't have any Bluetooth functionality. So it's not the actual remote control turning on the console, but probably the HDMI CEC being
    sent from your TV box.
    No, the 2 devices are not connected. I always thought that xbox wireless controllers used Bluetooth, and that was where the problem lay.

    I have checked my sat box and the HDMI CEC function is turned off.

    However I am starting to think that another device is responsible. I use an Actiontec wireless AV sender/receiver to send my sat tv picture to a tv in another room. It uses the 802.11n band on the 5GHz frequency. It is only when I am using that device that
    the Xbox turns itself on.
