My room gets dusty, could i cover up the vent on my series s when im sleeping or at work?

Dust builds up in consoles more when they're on than when they're off. This is because to keep cool they need to take in air. If the air contains dust then this will inevitably get inside the console. It will suck in more dust on than off. Best to keep the area around your machine dust free than to cover it up.

Or you could just DUST when things get dusty! No I do not recommend blocking the vents, EVER. I know you mean on the inside too but compressed air works great to get that out. There is no need to tuck in your electronic appliances.

You might want to consider enviromental factors even that is extreme are you leaving it on carpet. Is the room dusty?

Is the machine well ventilated?

Is the xbox on a stable surface?

Are you blocking the vents ?

Is the console flat rather then standing up?

If you are using the console standing up you are blocking one of the main vents

Yes I have two different set ups. One where the game sits on it an a fan blows an has vent covers for the openings not being use an then I have a led top cover for the top of my series x. It works really great.i paid a total of I think 65 bucks for them both. But it was worth it. If you need the link just lmk.

Surprising where dust can get to, use a laser lens cleaning disc on a regular basis to keep it clean.

Even a single speck of dust on the lens can affect how it reads discs.
