My recent suspension

Hey,

So I was chilling with a friend and let them play Rainbow Six Siege for a bit on my account, which I only do to people I 100% trust. A guy then started spamming laughing emojis and pretty much harassing, so the friend snapped and said something which I then deleted instantly. I was working on an apology message to the individual and to simply ask them to stop, and I got met with a communication suspension for a few days. I went to the enforcement website to appeal this, and instead of being spoken with so we could reach an accord, my appeal was simply denied and I was left to endure this unjustified suspension. I suppose my question is; is there another way for me to speak with them to get this suspension lifted, or is the whole appeal system a one and done type gig? Because I genuinely don’t get why I’m suspended until June 4th or 5th for a message which doesn’t even exist.

In situations like that, it's best to report and block instead of responding. It doesn't matter how a situation starts, if you (or in this case your friend) responds in a way that violates the code of conduct, it still warrants a suspension.

As far as other people you've reported, if they used profanity then they would have received a suspension. The enforcement team doesn't tell you when they issue a suspension.

It was for one game round when it happened as I had to go afk and he was at my house, and again harassment was occurring so a snap happened, in self defence. The suspension system in my eyes may need to be tweaked because it’s unfair on the players as it basically says don’t stand your ground because it’ll still happen. I’ve reported people for cursing heinously at me and they’ve not been suspended, the message sent via my account wasnt even anything majorly bad, and I got one. That’s just unfair..

It's a one and done thing. A case review is so the enforcement team can re-investigate and make sure they didn't make a mistake in issuing the suspension. Even though the message was deleted after being sent, it was still sent and would have been something that violated the code of conduct. Per the terms you agree to when you sign up, you are responsible for your account at all times so even though the message was sent by someone else, it was sent through your account. It's also a violation to let anyone else use your account.

You can defend yourself on xbox live,just not in a way that violates the ToU/CoC.

Ignoring these types of people will annoy them more than responding to them.

If you have to respond then do so in a way within the rules.If someone can't do that then the issue is with them,not the suspension system.

They were still able to message me after their suspensions would have happened. As I say though I don’t fully understand this whole system because it’s just a case of not being able to defend your case properly. I put a respectful appeal in and it got denied. I suppose there’s no point in keeping this open anymore, I got the response at least.. I just think the whole suspension system is extremely unfair and should be revamped, so you can actually be spoken with via say the enforcement section, and defend yourself instead of just being suspended for something that shouldn’t even be considered bad, compared to what some people say when they’re suspended.
