My real name got my gamertag banned.

Hey all, I’m just reaching out and posting this as a last ditch effort. I have been on Xbox Live for 8 years now. Since the beginning, I have always used “Corona” in my gamertag in some way, shape or form. Corona is my real life last name and it is what
I use in my everyday life. My friends(on and off Xbox) call me Corona, my coworkers call me Corona and even my grandmother in Mexico calls me Corona. This morning, I woke up to an email from Xbox Live Enforcement in regards to my account. I was forced to change
my gamertag and can no longer have my name(Corona) in it. I understand these are hard times. I understand that what’s going on in the world is a very serious thing. I work at a meat packing plant in the Midwest and am seeing the worst of it up front so I know
it is a sensitive topic. At the same time, I’m severely heartbroken that I am unable to use my real name like I have been. The Values of the Policy and Enforcement team state “Compassion: The policy is our guide. We must do what is right, not always just what
is written. Context Matters” and I feel like there is a lack of compassion for this issue. The values also state “Precision: With authority comes great responsibility; we must be precise in our investigations, documentation, reporting, and application of enforcement
policy” and i also feel like there is a lack of precision. I submitted a case review hours after I received the email informing me that my account was issued a forced gamertag change. In the comments on my case review, I stated what I have above in that my
real name is Corona. I also was willing to provide any information needed to prove this. In the end, the decision was upheld in my forced gamertag change regardless of context. Overall, I’m severely disappointed over this because Corona is my identity and
not being able to have that on Xbox really breaks my heart. I hope someone who is able to provide me with more information or a better solution reads this and I hope to hear from them soon. Thank you.
