My profile on XSX only shows what Xbox 360 games I am playing. Does anyone have a fix?

Earlier today, my friend and I decided to load into an Xbox 360 game, Splinter cell blacklist. When we were done playing, we both quit out. However, it still showed on both of our profiles that we were still playing that game, even when we loaded into new games entirely. He is now offline, but it says he is still playing splinter cell. I have tried restarting my console numerous times and it didn’t change it. The only thing that has changed what it says on my profile is going into a different Xbox 360 game. But, as you may have guessed, it now only shows me playing that game. (Castle Crashers) I have uninstalled the game and it still shows on my profile. Appearing offline works as intended, but when I re-appear online I have the same issue. Does anyone know a possible solution to my problem?

Same issue here. Started playing silent hill 2 and 3 and had the game title stuck over night. Tried loading up other games like Destiny 2, fortnite, COD and it still displays silent hill. Loaded up metal gear rising and now it’s stuck on that game title. I’ve tried the solution given but it doesn’t work. Any other ideas or will this be looked into?

Hi there!

Let's try to refresh your account by re-adding it to your console while performing a power cycle.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address linked with your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

2. Power cycle:
Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

If that doesn't work, try to sign in your account to an Xbox app on mobile then go to Profile and click on "APPEAR OFFLINE" then switch it back to online after few minutes.

It's happening to me and my friend as well, I asked him to just try playing fallout New Vegas to check and yep, stuck on that for 5 hours as we sit watching Netflix. It's happening to alot of people and no current fix.

Account was working fine with 360 games until about a week ago, for some reason it only shows Banjo-Kazooie or any 360 game I last played, and occasionally while in game it'll change to the right game. Some games, like fortnite simply refuse to display. Tried power-cycling and signing out, and Xbox app seems to do nothing either. I just want people to not be confused on what I'm currently playing.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue, only with 360 games. You cannot change the region when requested. Logging on to

commerce.microsoft.com/.../Profile it shows a "US - Personal account" profile which you cannot remove. I am guessing the only way to resolve this is to contact MS and have them correct the issue, which is what I am doing now.

Does anyone have a solution for this does not involve a lengthy support call?
