You can use your Xbox Console IP on the DMZ of your Router.

A) On your Router
----------------------------------------
1. Make sure to use the ethernet cable connection, it is more reliable than the Wi-Fi one. (If possible)

2. You then, have to assign a static (fixed) IP for your Xbox console on your router, which will enable you to do the next steps

3. Turn on DMZ under the IP you selected for your Xbox Console.

4. Turn on UPnP on your router

By doing that, you'll pretty much have an open and direct connection to the game servers.

B) On the Xbox Console

Configure the network settings accordingly.

Enter the Settings menu.

Under the General tab, select Network Settings then Advanced Settings.

Take note of the information displayed

Select IP Settings > Manual.

Enter the same IP you configured on your router DMZ.

im getting this error code when i join my friends party 0x89231906

That error code suggests there is a NAT issue.

May we confirm if you are on Windows 10 or 11?

Please check PC Settings on Windows 10 > Gaming > Xbox Network and check the NAT Type and please reply with any error message you notice. Errors are not limited to Double NAT detected, 0x89231906, Can’t get a Teredo IP address, NAT Type: Unavailable, Teredo is unable to qualify).

You can check your Network Address Translation (NAT) type in Windows 11 using the Xbox Console Companion app (please install this from Microsoft Store):

1. Launch Xbox Console Companion app.
   
2. Select Settings, and then select Network tab.
   
3. Look for NAT Type. Kindly check if it says: Double NAT detected, 0x89231906, Can’t get a Teredo IP address, NAT Type: Unavailable, Teredo is unable to qualify.
   

Mostly the troubleshooting you will need can be find in this support article (Troubleshoot NAT errors and multiplayer game issues | Xbox Support) otherwise the other support articles given on the first reply. If you select Why NAT is important, you will see the definition of NAT and what kind of player will be able to connect to each other. So, there is a bigger chance you can play with friends if you have Open NAT Type.

Based on how you describe your issue, it seems like you might be having issues with the NAT Type your Xbox has. If you keep on being disconnected in the internet every time you play a game. To check the NAT Type:

• Please navigate to Settings on the console.
  
• Go to General and select Network Settings.
  
• Kindly check the NAT Type under Current network status.

NAT type determines whether you can successfully use multiplayer gaming or party chat. Having an Open NAT can allow you to host a multiplayer games. Moderate, Strict and Unavailable NAT Type cannot host a match. NAT Type Moderate can only play with some people, not all because NAT Type Strict will only play with players on Open NAT Type. If NAT is unavailable, you’ll be unable to use party chat or connect to multiplayer games for some Xbox titles.

Not just that, please check if you have noticed any error message/code on the Network Settings, for this will hinder you to play a game continuously even you were not playing any multiplayer games. Error messages like NAT Type are mostly affects the multiplayer games: Unavailable, Can’t get a Teredo IP address, Error code 0x89231906 and Double NAT detected.
