My new headset (ventaris h700 , usb plug ) keeps cutting out after an hour to 2 hour of usage

I understand you need help with your headset problem.

Have you tried using the headset on a different device? Just to check if it cuts out after few hours of using? Because this might already be a problem with the headset itself and to isolate that, it would be best to test it out first on another device just to be sure.

My wired 360 controller did the same thing and after several hours of inspecting and tampering it ended up being the end of the controller wire that plugs into the break a way extension, so I cut it off and wired (color matched) an old USB end on and voila,
like new. Hope this helps someone.

Small update - having updated the controller wirelessly yesterday evening with no result, I have seen a few suggestions of updating via usb cable. I’ve now updated the controller again via usb and when I plug the headset in now I get 1-2 seconds of sound
before it cuts out the audio to my headset as well as the tv. I’m assuming it cuts out sound to the tv as the xbox sends it to the controller?

The xbox is also recognising my voice through the mic as my name comes up in party overlay.

I'm having the same problem.. In my case my basic chat headset stopped working, my online partner couldn't hear me but I could hear him. Bought a new, OEM headset, lots of static when the plug is touched/moved. Worked for about 1.5 hours and stopped
working thru either of my controllers. Bought another basic headset, it doesn't work and bought a MS X1 Stereo headset and another controller. The outgoing chat works sporadically, lots of static if the plug into the adapter is touched. outgoing voice
cuts out & in. VERY frustrating! Ron ....

Common issues with time limits

I don't think time limits is working, because the time in the device usage report does not match what I observe in real life.

• If your child uses multiple devices, then keep in mind that each device tracks their allowances separately. For example, a child who is limited to 1 hour, but can sign into 2 Windows PC's, could use each PC for 1 hour, for a total of 2 hours of usage that
  day.
• Time limits are enforced based on when they are signed in (even idle time), but idle time is not counted in the device usage report. For example, if your child's allowance is 2 hours, and they sign in and don't do anything, the child would be locked out
  after 2 hours, but the device usage report may show as little as 1 minute of usage
