My mojang minecraft name got unlinked after migration

Hi,

I just migrated my old mojang account to my new microsoft account because I wanted to play minecraft again.

With starting the launcher I found out that I need to choose a new name for the account. Which is weird since I am sure the account I migrated was the one which had my old name attached (xCas). In the e-mail about the migration process it even still adressed me with that name.

I would like to have my minecraft username linked to my microsoft account again since it holds sentimental value to me.

I understand that you want to keep your old Minecraft username after the migration. According to Mojang, your username should not change after the migration

However, if you need to change your username after the migration, you can follow these steps

Log in to minecraft.net.

Click on the My Games section.

Click where it says Minecraft: Java Edition, here you will be presented with two options to change the skin or change the name.

Click Profile Name.

You can now change your Java edition profile name

You can't unlink the accounts after the migration process it's complete as the migration process indicates

Open the Minecraft launcher please, in the log in screen select go back and then press in the Microsoft login option, after this use the email and password you migrated your Mojang account to instead of the old Mojang login information

In this case, you will have to contact Mojang to see if it is possible to unlink and migrate your Minecraft account to another Microsoft account . It is stated on this link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/... to reach Minecraft team if in case you migrated your account to the wrong Microsoft account.
