Please try to solve the problem as follows:

1. Open your Minecraft Launcher and go to Minecraft Java Edition.

2. At the top click on "Installations". Click on New installation and if you already have one that you want to use then click on the 3 dots and "Edit".

3. Select "More options" and make sure the Java executable path is empty, it should say "Use the included Java version." If there is another route, click on the cross in that place.

4. Click "Save" or "Create" and wait for the installation to complete.

5. Check if the problem persists.

Hello Oskayra.

I used both solutions but neither have rewarded me with any results.
I suspect that while moving the game files some of them that are used in the launching process were lost, hence the "Directory" message.

Got it installed after getting this error. For some reason it doesn't like being installed on my D: drive.

What I did to get it working:

Uninstall the Minecraft Launcher

Reinstall it

Go to install Minecraft for Windows

When it asks what drive to install it to, select C:
