    My mic won’t work and I can’t hear anybody else talking but I have tried different headsets...


    My mic hasn’t worked in game chat or party chat for about a week or two I have tried 3 different headsets and 2 different controllers but it won’t work I checked my settings and they seem to be fine but I’m not sure what to do so if you have been experiencing the same bug or glitch or know what’s wrong please reach out and tell me what I need to do to fix this

    Hello Squngebob, could tell what type of Headset is connecting to the control, the microphones to work on Xbox have to have the standard CTIA on the connection pin.

    One example, Iphone headsets have the Default OMTP, so the microphone doesn't work when connected to xbox.

    Hey Squngebob! I had this problem a few months back. Hopefully my fix will work for you!

    In the Xbox menus there are actually two different microphone mutes.

    One is located in the party chat, by hitting "Y" to mute/unmute.

    The other is in the "Audio & Music" tab at the bottom right of the dashboard. Inside "Audio & Music" there will be a Headset Mic ON/OFF switch. Mine was somehow set to off. I hope this helps.

    I have a wireless mic that I can hear but can’t talk through and then I have a mic that I plug in and. I can talk through that so why can’t I talk through my wireless mic

    My brother and I are both having this same problem! Though it alternates. Sometimes his mic works and I can hear him through the headset but I can't talk. Or the other way around. Anytime he's using the Kinect for the mic it works just fine. We've tried
    different controllers. We both use default headsets. Tried power cycling, controller firmware is up to date. It's really annoying not being able to chat
