My LG tv settings have done something to my Xbox 1

Hello,

someone has been messing around with the tv picture settings to make the video quality better, although it has changed the video on my xbox to 640 x 480 resolution and has no other option to change it back it is a smaller and more stretch screen now, i have tried everything to fix it. My audio out of my tv also is not working on my xbox, it works everywhere else on the tv except xbox as well as the other problem, if anyone knows what to do your help would be appreciated.

Try to restore the resolution on the console, Ziggy:

1. If there is a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.

2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

3. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You will hear a beep immediately and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash before the second beep. Do not release until the second beep occurs.

4. Note If you have an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, you will need to hold down the Xbox button and the Link button as the console does not have an Eject button.

In either case, this will boot your console into low resolution mode (640 × 480).

5. To reset this setting, press the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to System > Settings > Screen & Sound > Video Out and select the desired resolution from the Screen drop-down menu.

6. If you are required to complete these steps at every startup, change the TV connection to HDMI as shown in step 3 of the next section, “Your screen is blank and you use an AVR in setup.

If someone has been messing with the TV settings, then the first thing to do would be to unplug the Xbox, reset the TV settings to factory defaults and then plug the Xbox back in again.

As to the 640x480 resolution, I believe that is the default resolution when there's an issue. When I used my One X with my LG CX TV, sometimes I would turn it on and the resolution would be that and it usually required me to unplug the hDMI from either the TV or Xbox before plugging in again

Not sure about the audio issue. However, given the audio and video issues, it does sound like it's most likely an issue with either the HDMI port on either the TV or the Xbox or the HDMI cable itself

Of course, the simplest option to check whether it's TV or Xbox would be to plug it into another TV or even a computer monitor
