My LAN / Ethernet Port on my Xbox Series X does not seem to work

Since opening the box about a month ago I haven't been able to get the ethernet port on my Xbox Series X to work. I've tried multiple cables from CAT5 to CAT8 and have tried hard rebooting my xbox and my router and even factory resetting my xbox. I also know the ports on my router are fine because I've successfully connected multiple other devices. Is this likely a hardware issue where I should reach out to Microsoft to get my box fixed/replaced or is this a known issue where I should wait for a software patch that might fix this issue?

i have had the same issue with mine for the last week and a half it wasn't the cable i've replaced that so i'm probably gonna get ahold of my isp about replacement gateway

I plug an ethernet cable from the xbox to a my modem (it has 4 lan ethernet ports), then ethernet from my modem to my pc. No joy.

PB did a nice job but I'll add the issue is not the Xbox One X as it has a gigabit ethernet connection, so I'd take a long look at my router and the LAN switch ports.

Yes mate the Xbox Series X will have an optical out port, 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB-C port, Ethernet
