    My Kinect for Xbox One is dead. Nothing can be done to fix it.


    So my problem with the Kinect on Xbox One is that it keeps going off and on and there is no signs of internal infrared light to indicate that it is working. So nothing can be done about it. Guess I will just have to go to ebay.

    Reading this post kind of makes me want to buy extra kinects for X1 and 360. I don't want to not be able to play those games in the future

    Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

    In regards to this matter, if you have already attempted the
    Xbox One Kinect sensor     wizard, to no avail, then there isn't really any other troubleshooting techniques available.

    Since Microsoft stopped manufacturing the Xbox One Kinect back in October of 2017, they stopped servicing the device shortly afterwards. This would mean that there is not a way to submit a service order in order for you to get your device serviced.

    I'm sorry about any sort of turmoil or confusion this might have caused.

    Will/Should Xbox Kinectless come with voice commands?

    If Microsoft allows users to use voice commands without a Kinect then that's it for the Kinect, it's basically dead. The main selling point of the Kinect is voice commands.

    I have an Xbox One and I have my Kinect plugged in. I use the Kinect whenever my Xbox One is turned on because for the most part it's quicker and easier navigating the UI with my voice.
