My kid is playing as me. How to sort?

I set up my Xbox years ago using my Hotmail account. It’s the username I log into myxbox with or any other xbox stuff.

My son uses the XBOX and he has set himself up with a cool gaming profile, however, he is playing as me. I dont want him playing as me. I want to be the admin, and be able to see what he is doing online, who he is playign with
etc but because he is technically playing as me i cant really do that.

Can i set up a new profile just for him, and if i do will he lose all his friends and acheivements.?

So you will need to set up a child account for your son. You can got "https://account.microsoft.com/family/" and add a family member. That will create the live account
for your son and you will be able to monitor / see what he is doing online as a child account.

He will have to add his friends to this account, and he would lose the achievements that were unlocked on your account.

Yes you can setup a new profile just for him. I had to do the same for my daughter. He will have to recreate his friends list. I like how Microsoft sends me an email each week letting me know how much my child is playing and what games she is playing.
Microsoft makes it very easy to monitor.

Ideally you want to setup a second profile for him, yes you will lose any achievements and friends he has made, but you can use your profile as the admin by following these simple steps

gold is shared as long as you set his xbox as the home xbox for your gamertag. You can even limit access to make purchases and anything else. However you can readd his friends on his new account easily enough, just achievements won’t carry over.

Hi Zenosos, thank you for your assistance, and everyone elses. So i created a new profile for my son, added €10 to his account and went to change his gamertag back to something similar to what he had. It then sent a mail to me (the admin) asking for my
permission, when i clicked yes it asked me to add money to his account in $ dollars but there is already €10 euro on his account.? any ideas?

If i were you, i would make another account and use that account as an admin over the others, this way your son will not lose any progress in his games
