    My hardrive doesn’t connect


    Basically one day I turn on my Xbox series x and in my games and apps it shows and barely any games and no space because my hard drive isn’t connected even though it’s connected in its shows that is on because there’s a light that blinks. This happens most of the time so I unplugged it and plug it back in still doesn’t show my games or more storage so I reset my console and it still doesn’t work. So I waited until tomorrow to see if it works still doesn’t and still doesn’t till this day and I don’t know what to do. My hard drive is a WD easy store 2T

    Hi,Joshua ! I'm Luis, a fellow Xbox Gamer . Thanks for reaching us out here.

    Have you checked for possible updates?

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.

    If you see Update available, there’s an update you need to install.

    After you’re done installing the update, go back to Settings and select System > Storage devices. See if your device appears in the list.

    If that does not work adjust the power management for storage if you are in sleep mode

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.

    Confirm that your power mode is set to Sleep.

    Unselect the option When Xbox is off, turn off storage.

    Restart your Xbox, and then go back to Settings and select System > Storage to see if your device now appears in the list.

    Have you performed a full power cycle?

    Power cycle your console:
    Press the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds.
    Turn on the console again, and then see if it detects the external drive.
