My girlfriend can hear my game through her headset??

So we've been having this problem for a little while. We'll be playing a game together on different xbox's and different TV's, headsets etc. But whatever is going on in my game she can hear as if she's the one playing. It's very odd and we can't seem to figure out what it could be.

Hi there Evv welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. This is weird! Start with some simple steps:

Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select

Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Advanced Settings.

Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

Select Clear.

Allow the console to restart when prompted.

I have figured out the issue. For some reason when I have the option set to channel sound through both the headset and TV it really mutes the sound going to the headset for some reason. When I switch to headset only for party chat it instantly triples or quadruples the sound entering the headset. Not sure why but I am unable to allow my girlfriend to listen to my party chat while I play (it's less boring for her to watch when she can hear the people I'm playing with also).

Thank you for your response! I can hear again through the headphones my connected to my own controller, yet my girlfriend's controller is still mute. And we're using the same settings and there are no controller updates available.

I can hear game volume through my TV, just not through my headset. I can hear party audio, just not game audio.

I can't hear anybody through my TB XO One headset, but they can hear me. Game chat is fine, but in party chat it doesn't work. It shows me speaking when I speak, and my friends tell me they can hear me, and if I unplug the headset, I can hear people speaking
through the TV speakers.

The fact that game chat still works proves that it's Microsoft's software, not my headset, adapter, Xbox or controller.
