My games are not downloading when I turn the Xbox off and instant mode is on

Hello,

Ive been having an issue since the outage this afternoon. 11/10/2020 Before the outage this was not a problem. It started right after the outage.

When I try to download a game on my Xbox One S, and I turn the Xbox off, the game stops downloading and when I turn it back on it says installation stopped. By the way Instant on is turned on.

I've done everything I can. I have power cycled the Xbox and unplugged it. I power cycled my router and wifi router. I even completely reset my xbox as a last ditch effort, now I have nothing.

The games download just fine at a steady 70 to 113 Mbps while the system is on, however as soon as I turn off the xbox the installation fails. and then I have to restart the download.

I have tested the internet connection several times on the xbox getting getting 113 Mbps and a 98 percent signal every time.

I cannot run a wired connection because there is only one coax plug in the house and it is in the living room while I am in the bedroom, my land lord will not allow me to run a long network cable to my room.

As I said this was not an issue even right before the outage, i had just turned on my xbox and a download was downloading while the xbox was in sleep mode. when i turned it on about 5 minutes later is when the outage happened. my service was out for about
2 and a half hours, and i tried to download one of my games and i started having the issue.

I hope the outage did not break my xbox, this xbox is only 2 months old.

yes that's what I'm trying to tell you, instant on mode does not work. When I put it in instant on mode and I uncheck if Xbox is off turn off storage. That way when I turn the Xbox off I don't want the external storage to turn off but it seems to do that
anyways. When I turn off the Xbox to download the DLCs or updates whatever, the power light on the power supply is white, the network is still trying to download the files because I could still see the network switcher blinking but the external hard drive
is not powered on. So yes I know all about the instant on and the energy mode.

Go into Settings

Turn Power mode to Instant-on,

Uncheck the box when xbox is off, turn off storage.

This should allow you to turn off your console and it will continue to download while you sleep. This is what I do with large game downloads.

to be clear the settings are

Power Mode Instant On

Automatically download updates and purchases turned on

when Xbox is off, turn off storage is on

on start go to tv and wake up xbox by saying xbox on are both off.

Everything is set like that but i noticed it only goes in instant on mode when saying xbox off but when i panually turn the xbox off it won't go in instant on mode after last upfate

I'm having the same issue but with my series X. Downloads fine while on but as soon as i turn it off (in instant on mode) everything stops
